RESUMEN
El objetivo del estudio fue analizar los componentes clave de satisfacción en la calidad
de vida laboral en universidades públicas de Valledupar, Cesar-Colombia. El enfoque
aplicado fue de metodología cuantitativa, con ruta descriptiva bajo una estrategia no
experimental, transeccional, de campo. Participaron 232 colaboradores, entre directivos
y docentes, quienes fueron encuestados mediante un cuestionario con 9 ítems y
diversas posibilidades de respuesta. Tras la validación de cinco expertos, se determinó
la confiabilidad mediante el coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach. Los resultados revelaron un
comportamiento medianamente alto de los componentes de la satisfacción laboral en
las universidades públicas. Se concluyó que han existido limitaciones en el personal
directivo para fomentar un estado emocional positivo en los docentes y demás
colaboradores, lo cual ha impactado en su percepción sobre su trabajo y el medio en el
cual se desenvuelven laboralmente.

ABSTRACT
The objective of the study was to analyze the key components of satisfaction in the
quality of work life in public universities in Valledupar, Cesar-Colombia. The approach
applied was quantitative methodology, with descriptive route under a non-experimental,
transectional, field strategy. A total of 232 employees participated, including managers
and teachers, who were surveyed by means of a questionnaire with 9 items and several
possible answers. After validation by five experts, reliability was determined by
Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. The results revealed a moderately high performance of the
components of job satisfaction in public universities. It was concluded that there have
been limitations on the part of management personnel to foster a positive emotional
state in teachers and other collaborators, which has had an impact on their perception of
their work and the environment in which they work.
