José Antonio Abreu fue la clave de la partitura
El mayor logro político de José Antonio Abreu está sin duda en la música. Su proyecto de vi da estuvo marcado por la masificación orquestal en todo el país. Su propio sistema de enseñanza, que en el presente se traduce en casi 650.000 niños y jóvenes que tienen la oportunidad de crecer junto a un instrumento. Un programa social que hoy celebra 40 años.Abreu fue un defensor tenaz de su modelo educativo. Peregrinó por todo el mundo con su mensaje: la música es la mejor herramienta contra la violencia. Desde niño, desde mi más tierna infancia, quise ser músico. Y gracias a Dios logré serlo. Toda mi vida soñé con que los demás niños y jóvenes venezolanos tuvieran la misma oportunidad. De ahí la idea que siempre estuvo sembrada en mi corazón de convertir la música en una realidad profunda y global en mi país.La clave de esta partitura que se ha sostenido por cuatro décadas recae en una sola nota: paciencia. Una de las primeras reuniones de este proyecto se realizó en un estacionamiento que estaba ubicado en el sótano de un edificio en la Candelaria, en 1974.
