La ley debe aplazarse
El auditorio del Comité Olímpico Venezolano estuvo repleto de gente vinculada, de alguna manera al deporte, y pese a las posiciones divergentes que se expresaron en la asamblea en la que se trató lo referente al Proyecto de Ley del Deporte, Educación Física y Actividad Física, como conclusión hubo un consenso: Ese proyecto no refleja las aspiraciones de atletas, entrenadores, federativos y del COV.
Para Eduardo Álvarez, presidente del Comité Olímpico Venezolano, resultó importante la reunión que demostró, "que en el deporte es el único ámbito en el que pese a la diversidad se puede discutir con amplitud".
Álvarez saludó la iniciativa del Ministerio del Deporte de realizar foros en diversos estados del país en los cuales se aborda el tema.
"Me parece muy bien, pero además creo que la Ley se debe aplazar para hacerla objeto de una consulta nacional con participación de los interesados y de asumir propuestas que surjan de esa consulta", indicó Álvarez.
Judith Rodríguez, presidenta de la Federación de Voleibol dijo que había recibido una comunicación del organismo internacional al cual está adscrita, en la que se señala que "el voleibol se rige por lo establecido en la carta olímpica".
