RESUMEN
El manejo conductual de pacientes con Síndrome de Down en odontopediatría es un desafío debido a las características
cognitivas, emocionales y conductuales asociadas a esta condición. La prob lemática radica en las dificultades que enfrentan
los odontopediatras para establecer cooperación durante los tratamientos, lo que puede afectar la calidad de la atención y el
bienestar del pac iente. Por ello, el objetivo de este estudio es identificar estrategias efectivas basadas en evidencia científica
que optimicen la interacción con estos pacientes, mejorando su experiencia odontológica. Se realizó una revisión sistemática
de artículos científicos publicados entre 2020 y 2024 en bases de datos como Google Scholar, PubMed, Elsevier y SciELO. Se
utilizaron palabras clave como "Manejo de la conducta", "Síndrome de Down" y "Odontopediatría". De un total de 74 artículos
encontrados, 25 cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión, que se enfocaron en estudios específicos sobre manejo conductual
en odontopediatría. Los resultados evidencian que técnicas como el refuerzo positivo, la desensibilización progresiva y la
comunicación adaptada son herramientas clave para mejorar la cooperación del paciente. Además, la preparación del entorno
odontológico, el uso de estrategias psicológicas y el trabajo interdisciplinario contribuyen significativamente al éxito del
tratamiento. La atención odontopediátrica de pacientes con Síndrome de Down requiere un en foque personalizado y
multidisciplinario. La formación continua de los odontólogos en manejo conductual y la implementación de prácticas basadas
en evidencia son esenciales para garantizar un cuidado integral y humanizado.

The behavioral management of patients with Down syndrome in pediatric den tistry is a challenge d ue to the cognitive,

dentists in establishing cooperation during treatment, which can affect the quality of care and the well-being of the patient.
