La gente que viaja a la costa en vacaciones puede sumergirse, sin saberlo, en agua sucia. Un estudio del Ministerio del Ambiente señala que en esta temporada en el país hay 103 playas no aptas porque presentan bacterias fecales y de otros tipos. De ese total, 67,96% se localiza en Vargas, Miranda y Zulia. Los temporadistas pueden entrar inocentemente en aguas no aptas porque no tienen señalización.
