RESUMEN
El desarrollo de procesos de construcción es una de las principales causas que genera la
emisión de dióxido de carbono o gases efecto invernadero (GEI), los cuales originan graves
consecuencias para el planeta y a su vez problemas socioeconómicos reflejados en la salud
humana, seguridad alimentaria, migraciones, impactos financieros entre otros. Por esto, resulta
muy importante crear indicadores que proporcionen información sobre la cantidad de T on-CO2
generada en los procesos constructivos en general y especialmente, ahora que muchos de
estos procesos se han detenido a raíz de la emergencia sanitaria del Covid-19. Por lo cual, el
presente trabajo busca describir cómo son llevados a cabo los procesos de construcción y las
emisiones de Dióxido de Carbono que influyen en los resultados socio-económicos de México,
especialmente, durante el tiempo de pandemia del Covid-19. Los autores que fundamentan los
aspectos teóricos de esta investigación son: Hepb urn & Stern (2008); Moreno Sánchez y
Urbina Soria (2008), Magrin, et al, (2007), entre otros. La metodología aplicada es de carácter
descriptica, documental, tomando como población de estudio el fraccionamiento “Cantabria” de
Ciudad Obregón de México. Donde se pudo determinar entre los resultados que la cantidad de

dióxido de carbono que se produce durante la construcción de un fraccionamiento equivale a
un total de 10.5 TonCO2/m2 en condiciones nor males, sin embargo, con la pandemia esta
cantidad de gases disminuyó considerablemente, dada la paralización de muchas actividades
económicas entre ellas la construcción. Con lo cual se recomienda identificar los materiales
causantes de la generación de estos gases y mediante políticas públicas establecer medidas
de control para el sector construcción sobre el uso de eso materiales contaminantes a fin de
minimizar la emisión de GEI al medioambiente.

Construction processes, carbon dioxide emission and socio-economic results during
the covid-19 pandemic in Mexico.
ABSTRACT
The development of construction processes is one of the main causes that generates the
emission of carbon dioxide or greenhouse gases (GHG), which cause serious consequences
for the planet and in turn socioeconomic problems reflected in human health, food security,
migrations, financial impacts among others. For this reason, it is very important to create
indicators that provide information on the amount of Ton-CO2 generated in construction
processes in general and especially, now that many of the se processes have stopped as a
result of the Covid-19 health emergency. Therefore, the present work seeks to describe how
the construction processes are carried out and the Carbon Dioxide emissions that influence the
socio-economic results of Mexico, especially during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic. The
authors who suppor t the theoretical aspects of this research are: Hepburn & Stern (2008);
Moreno Sánchez and Urbina Soria (2008), Magrin, et al, (2007), among others. The
methodology applied is descriptive, documentary in nature, taking the “Cantabr ia” subdivision of
Ciudad Obregón de México as the study population. Wher e it was possible to determine among
the results that the amount of carbon dioxide that is produced during the construction of a
fractionation is equivalent to a total of 10.5 TonCO2 / m2 under normal conditions, however,
with the pandemic this amount of gases de creased considerably, given the paralysis of many
economic activities including constr uction. With which it is recommended to identify the
materials that cause the generation of these gases and through public policies establish control
measures for the construction sector on the use of these polluting materials in order to minimize
the emission of GHG to the environment..
