Colegio de Abogados del Estado Lara . La decisión judicial desvirtúa la libertad de
asociación, y en consecuencia su autonomía política. La práctica de controlar a
estas corporaciones profesionales a partir de sus procesos electorales está justifi-
cada conforme al artículo 293.6 constitucional. Sin embargo, se trata de un proce-
der que ha buscado beneficiar los intereses gubernamentales, en desmedro de los
derechos fundamentales de los asociados o colegiados. Es un estu dio que muestra
cómo los colegios de abogados han sido subordinados y controlados en los últimos
veinte años."

Lara State Bar Association. The judicial decision distorts the freedom of associa-
tion and, consequently, its political autonomy. The practice of controlling these
professional associat ions on the basis of their electora l processes is justified under
Article 293.6 of the Constitu tion. However, it is a process that has sought to benefit
government interests to the detriment of the funda mental rights of associate s or
members. It is a study that shows how the Bar Associations have been subordinated
and controlled in the last twenty years."
