CIDH exige garantizar derecho a reproducir información
La Comisión Interame-ricana de Derechos Humanos abogó por la libertad de expresión en Venezuela. El comisionado Felipe González, relator para Venezuela, señaló: Tiene que garantizarse el derecho de los medios locales de reproducir información producida en otros países.Durante el inicio de las au diencias públicas del 156 período de sesiones en Washington, Estados Unidos, González indicó que el Estado venezolano no se ha hecho cargo de las observaciones del organismo sobre las deficiencias en el acceso a la información pública, ni ha consignado la información solicitada.El comisionado destacó que el derecho a la información pública es garantía de los derechos sociales, políticos y económicos, y destacó la importancia de que se acate la sentencia de la Corte Interamericana que ordenó devolver la concesión a Radio Caracas Televisión. Sin embargo, el director de Conatel, William Castillo, negó esta posibilidad porque ya hay una decisión del TSJ.Varias ONG denunciaron las condiciones de la libertad de expresión. La directora de IPYS Venezuela, Marianela Balbi, aseguró que los procedimientos judiciales contra periodistas, medios y activistas de derechos han aumentado durante el gobierno de Nicolás Maduro. De 64 acciones legales, entre 2002 y 2015, 29 corresponden a delitos de difamación e injuria, en los que se ha afectado a 36 personas acusadas.Más de la mitad de los afectados por las demandas de difamación e injuria corresponde a los 22 directivos de los medios Tal Cual, El Nacional y La Patilla, acusados por el presidente de la Asamblea Nacional, afirmó Balbi.El Sindicato Nacional de Tra bajadores de la Prensa reportó 205 denuncias sobre violaciones a la libertad de expresión en los primeros meses de este año.
