Esta saga la inicia Carl Schmitt.No es casual que su controversial crítica de la democracia liberal la emprendiera en 1921, a dos años de fundada la brumosa República de Weimar.Resumiéndolo en demasía, Schmitt plantea que el sobera no es aquel que puede tomar la decisión de quién es el amigo y el enemigo , y declarar en consecuencia el estado de excepción .Considerado como el ideólogo jurídico del nazismo, termina publicando en 1963 su Teoría del partisano , donde alaba a Lenin y a Mao como puntos de ebullición de su tesis acerca del enemigo absoluto.Sobre biopolítica habla ría también Michel Foucault, quien introduce el término en las clases del College de Francia en 1976, donde declara que sólo el nazismo, claro está, llevó hasta el paroxismo el juego entre el derecho soberano de matar y los mecanismos del biopoder.
