RESUMEN
El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la constitucionalidad de la eutanasia y el
derecho a la muerte digna en Ecuador. La metodología utilizada fue esencialmente el
análisis decasos, teniendo como resultado, la viabilidad de la muerte digna y su
ejercicio. Los conceptos de muerte digna, el alcance de la protección del derecho a la
vida, la dignidad, entre otros que fueron esenciales para la permisión de la eutanasia
en Colombia, han sido recogidos en similares términos en nuestra legislación,
jurisprudencia y doctrina, lo cual permite prever un escenario similar a corto, mediano
plazo.

ABSTRACT
The objective of this article is to analyze the constitutionality of euthanasia and the
right to a dignified death in Ecuador. The methodology used was essentially the
analysis of cases, having as a result, the viability of the dignified death and its exercise.
The concepts of dignified death, the scope of protection ofthe right to life, dignity,
among others that were essential for the permission of euthanasia in Colombia, have
been collected in similar terms in our legislation, jurisprudence and doctrine, which
allows foreseeing a similar scenario in the short and medium term.
