RESUMEN
La investigación tiene por objetivo analizar la gestión del capital intelectual en la
organización empresarial del hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, ubicado en Cuenca –
Ecuador. Metodológicamente la investigación fue de tipo descriptivo no experimental de
campo, trabajándose con una muestra total de 324 individuos. La gestión de capital
intelectual en la institución se estableció que el 49% piensa que, si existe gestión de
capital intelectual, mientras que el 24% no considera que exista gestión de capital, en
tanto que porcentajes menores se encuentran entre algunas veces existe gestión con
un 18% y el 9% de encuestados. El hospital de especialidades José Carrasco Arteaga,
podría unificar algunos departamentos, en uno solo y de esta manera optimizar
recursos; de igual manera los sistemas tecnológicos, tanto los que ya existen como la
implementación de nuevos sistemas, ayudan a disminuir los tiempos de espera de los
pacientes, y optimizar el tiempo y trabajo del personal.

ABSTRACT
The objective of the research is to analyze the management of intellectual capital in the
business organization of the José Carrasco Arteaga hospital, located in Cuenca -
Ecuador. Methodologically, the research was of a descriptive, non-experimental field
type, working with a total sample of 324 individuals. The management of intellectual
capital in the institution was established that 49% think that, if there is management of
intellectual capital, while 24% do not consider that there is management of capital, while
lower percentages are between sometimes there is management with 18% and 9% of
respondents. The José Carrasco Arteaga specialty hospital could unify some
departments into one and in this way optimize resources; In the same way, technological
systems, both those that already exist and the implementation of new systems, help to
reduce waiting times for patients, and optimize staff time and work.
